URGENTLY IN NEED OF VOLUNTEERS To continue this club we need volunteers to work with us (men and women). Open to the public not just HCB.
The job of the HCB First Aid Auxiliary is to work to raise money for the HCB First Aid Squad. The squad members are volunteers that spend many hours a week going on calls to help people in need of medical help. Our job as an auxiliary is to raise money so they can accomplish this.
We usually meet once a month on a Monday at 3 PM at the First Aid Squad on Port Royal Drive.. Our meetings only last about an hour. We organize fundraisers to raise money for the squad such as Psychic Fairs, Gift Auctions etc. If you want to keep busy, give us a try. We are a friendly group. All are welcome.
We have another Psychic Fair scheduled for September. More info to follow. We have other fundraisers in mind but need to enlist more members before we can proceed with any new function. If we cannot enlist some new members our Auxiliary will have to disband. At this time we are breaking for the summer and will hopefully continue meetings in September.
If interested please call Linda Maddalena at 732-505-6795 or Madeline Wesolowski at 732-797-0686

Due to overwhelming response, Casual Bocce will be resuming Tuesday, July 5th at 10AM. Games run around 2 hours and usually are 3 games per court. (This changes the day and time that was mentioned last month).
Reservations are required!!! – We don’t want to overflow with people as we want everyone to be able to play!!! So make sure to call.
Casual Bocce has no set teams. There are no measuring of the balls. No paddles. Strictly fun amongst friends.
To reserve your slot, call Steve Abramson at 609-661-0794.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside. The Melodiers lay to rest one of our own as Rose Balzano passed away in May. All of those who knew her will miss her dearly.
We are sleepy Melodiers. After back-to-back concerts, our members are taking a much needed break for the summer. We will be resuming rehearsals for our Christmas 2022 concert on Wednesday, August 24th in Clubhouse 2 at 4PM.
Anyone who would like to join is encouraged to come to that rehearsal. NO formal training is needed. NO auditions are given. All you need to join is a love for music and the desire to sing. EVERYONE is welcome to join the group as long as you live in the Holiday City Communities.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact Harold Stewart at 201-982-3524 or 848-226-6972. If no answer, please leave a message.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! The Gift Auction returned and was very successful and everyone had a great time. The selection of gifts was outstanding. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. Thank you to the businesses who generously supported us, and thank you to the members who worked many hours to make this happen, and to everyone who came out to support us.
This has been an amazing year for our group as we celebrated our 50th Anniversary of raising money for help fulfill the wish lists of various departments of the hospital that add to the comfort of the patients. Holly Twig started in 1972 with less than ten members. Today we have over fifty members and we have plenty of room for you. We take a break for the summer, and we will be back in September. Come join us and be part of this group as we work together to make it possible to fulfill our Mission is to raise money to purchase comfort items for the patients of RWJ Barnabas Health/Community Medical Center. 100% of the profit of our fundraising goes into those items that are selected from a Wish List that is made up from various departments. In the past, we have contributed such items as warming blankets, reclining chairs and televisions for the patients, just to name a few. None of the money goes into the hospital operations.
It is important to mention that this hospital recognizes and respects the senior population in the area and continues to grow with our health issues in mind. This is the closest hospital, and the one you will go to in an emergency.
Even though it’s summer, our members continue to knit and crochet. We appreciate your donation of any weight yarn. The baby weight is turned into precious little caps for the new born babies to wear home. The heavier weight yarn is used to make other items which we sell at our boutique. Your support and generosity makes this possible. Please call Susan to arrange for pick it up. Approximately 1,200 babies are born each year at our hospital.
Holly Twig meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the H.C. Berkeley Clubhouse #2 - upper clubhouse. Being part of this group doesn’t take very much time, and is very rewarding. We look forward to meeting you. We do not have meetings in July and August.

Bocce started in April. The weather has not cooperated! We hope the remainder of the season will cooperate. On a positive note, courts have been worked on and are looking good.
Team captains are responsible for filling out and signing score sheets. Captains should ask their players to call if they can’t play. The team captain should then contact the coordinator, who will try to get a replacement. It is the responsibility of the team to put the paddles and balls back in the bocce shed. Please sweep your courts before leaving.
