End of Season Report

We finished our season this past October with a record number of players in the league (27). Everyone had a great time and honed their golf skills each Friday at Cedar Creek Golf Course.

The 3 winners of each flight (based on handicaps) were:
    Jim Palmer - A    Art Yerdonek - B    Tim Fuller - C

Two luncheons at the course after mini tournaments were greatly appreciated by the member. Our final luncheon at Buffalo Wild Wings on October 19th was attended by 19 members. Good food and drinks with prizes.

Next meeting will be in April 2024 at Cedar Creek Golf Course for the coming year. $10 to join the club and $30 for the league. Notice will be posted on monthly paper as to sign up date. We play every Friday at 9 AM, Cedar Creek Golf Course starting end of April and ending the end of September.

As we enter November, we still have exciting events planned for the balance of this year. Remember, you can pick up some wonderful gifts for your family and friends or just a treat for yourself while supporting Holly Twig at the same time. Because of you, we are able to help do what we do to make a difference.
Raffle tickets are now available for the $500 Visa gift card.

Here is what is still to come at the hospital behind the outpatient lobby:
  • Friday, November 10th, Holiday Boutique and bake sale, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Plus the raffle drawing for a $500 Visa gift card.
  • November 16th & 17th, Tupperware Sale 7:30AM-3PM.
  • December 21st and 22nd, Handbag sale 7:00AM-4PM. Amazing prices!!! Vendor sales are open to the public to come and shop. We are always delighted to see the fabulous assortment of out of the ordinary items that are being sold.

Our Holly Twig members, who knit and crochet, continue to make hats for the newborn babies to wear home as well as making hats for patients in the Oncology Department. All of our hats are made by Holly Twig members, and we use approved patterns. We are still accepting yarn you may have and would like to share with us.
Community Medical Center offers FREE valet parking for patients and visitors at the Main Entrance.

Our Mission is to raise money to purchase items to make the patients' stay more comfortable while at RWJ Barnabas Health/Community Medical Center. 100% of the profit of our fundraising goes into those items that are selected from Wish Lists that are submitted from various departments within the hospital.

If you would like to make a donation to remember a special occasion or loved one, please consider making your donation to Holly Twig. We will send a special note to the person or family you are remembering or honoring, letting them know the donation came from you. Our meetings are scheduled for the second Wednesday of the month at 9:00AM at HC Berkeley Clubhouse 2. New members are always welcome.

What IS the Friendship Club?

The Friendship Club is a group of men and women who meet on Mondays and Fridays from 12:30PM-4:00PM in the Poker Room in Clubhouse 1.

We are a group of about 15 people that love to play Canasta (Hand-And-Foot) and Mah-Jongg.

We always have coffee and snacks around 2PM in the kitchen (Members all take turns bringing snacks)
Conversation and laughs are always had; and the occasional get together is had outside the clubhouse.  We also celebrate birthdays on a monthly basis.

If you’d like to join a friendly group of adults and can play either Canasta or Mah-Jongg (OR you’d like to learn), please don’t hesitate to come on down on those days and say “hi!”

You do NOT need to be a member of the Holiday City communities to join this club.

Casual Bocce is back for its incredible FIFTH season!!!

Casual Bocce is the same game that you already know and love; bocce without the set teams or measuring the balls.  Or maybe you don’t know the game and want to give it a try?

Games are currently played from 9-11AM on Saturday mornings at Clubhouse 1 on the Bocce Courts.  While there is always room for everyone to play, it is encouraged to call ahead to make sure there is a game going or that there is room.  The season is anticipated to progress up until Thanksgiving.

We are NOT associated with the Official Bocce League which will run concurrently earlier in the week.  For the Official Bocce League information, please see their post right here in the newsletter

For any questions or information, call Steve Abramson at 609-661-0794.
