Happy New Year 2023.  And welcome to an upcoming FIFTH season of Casual Bocce.
Casual Bocce is the same game that you already know and love; bocce without the set teams or measuring the balls.  Or maybe you don’t know the game and want to give it a try?
Casual Bocce will be returning a lot earlier this year.  Starting in the Spring, we will have games from 4-6PM on THURSDAYS ONLY.  Time slot could change, the day of the week will not.
We are NOT associated with the Official Bocce League which will run concurrently earlier in the week.  For the Official Bocce League information, please see their post right here in the newsletter
For any questions or information, call Steve Abramson at 609-661-0794.

Holly Twig will not be having a meeting in December. Our Holiday Luncheon will be in lieu of our December meeting, where our new officers will be installed with our traditional candle ceremony. Congratulations MaryLou Galiano - President, Susan Schmeid - Vice President, Elizabeth Ferraioli - Treasurer, Donna Edminster - Recording Secretary and Deborah Caputo - Chaplain.
The November 4th Holiday Boutique and Bake Sale was a huge success and congratulations to the winner of the Visa Gift Card raffle. Thank you to everyone who support our efforts to raise money by coming to our sales and who purchased raffle tickets recently.
In the New Year we are looking forward to interesting programs at our meetings and more vendor sales at the hospital. We look forward to welcoming new vendors, and some we have had before who will be back by popular demand.
This year we celebrated our 50th Anniversary. It was wonderful to have successful events and to welcome new members. Each member is very valuable to us - thank you for being part of Holly Twig.
Our Mission is to raise money to purchase special items that the departments of the hospital have put on a Wish List to make the patients of RWJ Barnabas Health/Community Medical Center more comfortable during their stay. 100% of the profit of our fundraising goes into those items that are selected. In the past, we have contributed such items as vein finders, warming blankets, reclining chairs and televisions for the patients, just to name a few.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Holly Twig meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the H.C. Berkeley Clubhouse #2 - upper clubhouse. Being part of this group doesn't take very much time, and is very rewarding. Refreshments are served; there is a brief business meeting before we have a program. If you have been thinking about joining, please put the date on your calendar and come.
We continue to accept donations of new items that we resell and donations of yarn. We are always making baby hats for the newborns to wear home.

Hi Bunco Players,
Just a reminder:  our December Bunco will be off premises. This will be our Christmas party having it at a restaurant. So, there will be no new members to sign up for December. All Bunco members need their invite marked paid by a staff member. If you do not have one, you will need this to attend our Christmas party.
New members are still welcomed to join Bunco in January 2023. Come and join the group and see what fun we bring to all. Our next Bunco in Clubhouse 2 will be January 17, 2023.
Bunco is the third Tuesday of each month. It’s in Clubhouse 2 up on the hill in the auditorium. Doors open at 12:00 to sign up. The game starts at 1:00 P.M. and ends at 3:30P.M.
“Join in the joy and laughter…..forget your worries for just a while.”
Masks are not required. It is your option; do what feels comfortable for you.
THE STAFF WISHES ALL A
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Stay safe, healthy and enjoy your holidays.
