Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends Discount Shopping Pass is now available for a donation of $5, and we know this is always a fun day of shopping. This year the date of Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends is October 21st. The shopping pass can be used in the store and on line. In many departments such as clothing, shoes, jewelry, and more the discount is 25%. In small appliances and a few other departments the discount is 15%. There is also a chance to win a $100 gift certificate. This is a great way to do holiday shopping for others, or just get treats for you!
The $500 Visa Gift Card raffle tickets are on sale now. The drawing is in November and is always a sell-out. To quote one of our members, “All you need is $5 and dream.” You must be in it to win it, so be sure to get your ticket before we run out.
The Third Annual Tea at the Mathis House was enjoyed by almost sixty women, which is twice the amount from last year. Lovely door prizes were won and the 50/50 was a nice size. If you missed this one, think about joining us next August.
Holly Twig welcomes like-minded women with energy, creativity, and a passion for fundraising to support our hospital. Members are encouraged to participate in our events, share new ideas, and take active roles in our organization. The group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at Clubhouse 2 in Holiday City Berkeley. Meetings begin with coffee and conversation, often followed by an engaging program before our business session.
All proceeds from our events are donated to the hospital to help fulfill “wish list” items requested by various departments—needs that fall outside the regular operating budget. Each department may submit requests for items up to $5,000. Your continued support and generosity make it possible for these important wishes to be granted.
One of our ongoing fundraising efforts is our partnership with Second Time Around, located at 200 Corporate Circle, Toms River, NJ 08755, creating a true win-win opportunity. We gladly accept seasonal new or gently used items, which are consigned under Holly Twig’s account. These donations can be winter clothing or housewares that are in the original box.  It’s a wonderful shop filled with hidden treasures—you never know what you might find! 
We also continue to collect donations of new, soft yarn. Our talented members use these materials year-round to create baby hats for newborns, as well as chemo hats, shawls, and lap blankets for patients in the oncology department.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 10th, at 12:00 PM in Club House One, coffee and tea at 11:30am. 

We are both a SOCIAL and Fishing Club with the goal of bringing our HCB community together. At most of our meetings we have guest speakers pertaining to community, health, environment, and even fishing. Other than our regularly scheduled meetings we also plan several Field Trips, within the last year we have visited The Tuckerton Seaport, had lunch at the Fortune Buffet. Revisited our High School Years and American Bandstand, annual Easter Luncheon, celebrated our 3rd Annual Picnic at John C. Barlett Park, and we are looking forward to our Christmas Dinner Dance. Come join us, our membership is only $10 per year.
This month only we will not be serving donuts prior to our meeting but will still have coffee and tea before the meeting which begins at noon due to our Ice Cream Social. However, after the meeting, we will enjoy our annual Ice Cream Sundae Social, complete with many different toppings. Go wild—there’s a rumor that, on this day only, calories don’t count! This is a great opportunity to connect with fellow members in a relaxed fun setting. Non-members $5

•    October 12th – Guess Speaker Bill Kidd regarding Medi Care advantages.
•    October 12th – Fortune Buffet or Pizza Party after scheduled Meeting( to be determined).
We would like to remind everyone that while fishing is a part of what we do, our club is, at its core, a social club. Many of our members enjoy fishing, but it is not a requirement to join. We welcome anyone interested in social activities, whether or not you fish.

Our Annual Gift Auction was a tremendous success! Over one hundred gifts were won, many door prizes and the 50/50. Many thanks to everyone who volunteered on the day of the auction, donated gifts, and came out to support the event. We would like to recognize the ladies who helped us the day of the auction who are not members. Thank you!!!!
On August 12, Holly Twig will host our Third Annual High Tea at the beautiful Mathis House, located at 600 Main Street. Seating begins at 11:00 a.m. This elegant five-course experience will include soup, salad, scones, tea sandwiches, dessert, and, of course, plenty of tea. Seating is limited, so watch for upcoming flyers and plan to purchase your tickets early—whether for yourself or a table of friends. It promises to be a memorable and delicious afternoon. Tickets are $50, and there will also be a 50/50 raffle and door prizes.
