At this time, we are busy gathering gift certificates and donations from local merchants for our Annual June Gift Auction. If you have items that you received from Atlantic City for a gif you received that you put up in a closet and will never use, please call us to arrange to donate these items. We are known for our beautiful gift baskets and generous prizes. There will be no gifts valued less than $30 and many valued over $100. Of course, there will be door prizes and a 50/50. There will be lots of surprise gifts with many to please everyone. Tickets are now available on Thursdays and Berkeley BINGO from 3-4:30 and at the mini mall on some Fridays. The ticket prize is $20, which includes a door prize ticket, a sheet of red table tickets, a ticket for the gold table, a bottle of water and assorted desserts. As always, you are welcome to bring snacks.
Keep watching Facebook for new crumb cake sale from My Father’s Crumb Cakes. You may have tried some, as he sells at the Cedar Post in the summer and at Luigi’s.

Holly Twig is hosting our Annual High Team Luncheon at the Mathis House, located at 600 Main Street, seating at 11am. Ticket information will be available soon. There will be limited seating, so please watch for flyers and get your tickets early. You can purchase a single ticket or a few for a table of friends to sit together. This will be a five course luncheon with soup, salad, scones, tea sandwiches and dessert. Of course, there will be plenty of tea served. Come and have a memorable afternoon and a delicious lunch.

Our members are always finding creative and meaningful ways to raise funds for Community Medical Center. These funds help purchase much-needed items that fall outside the hospital’s general budget. Each hospital department may submit a “wish” request for items valued up to $5,000. Your donations and purchases make it possible for these “wishes” to be granted. Thank you for your continued support.

One of our ongoing fundraising efforts is our partnership with Second Time Around, creating a true win-win opportunity. We gratefully accept new or gently used items, which are then consigned under Holly Twig’s account at Second Time Around. When an item sells, 50% of the proceeds go to Holly Twig and 50% to Second Time Around—resulting in 100% of the funds benefiting the hospital. As you de-clutter or make room for something new, please think of Holly Twig and call to arrange a donation. This is a hidden treasure that everyone should visit. You never know what you’ll find.
Holly Twig also continues to accept donations of new, soft yarn. Our members continue throughout the year to use this yarn to create baby hats for newborns, as well as chemo hats, shawls, and lap blankets for patients in the oncology department.

Holly Twig meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:30am in Clubhouse 2 at Holiday City Berkeley. We begin each meeting with coffee and conversation, often followed by an interesting program before moving into our business meeting.
