This month is our lunch month. We are having crepes, salad, drinks and homemade cookies. Next year we will be holding our meetings in Clubhouse 1 on the second Monday as usual but at 12pm. Coffee at 11:30. Pat has arranged for an AC Trip for February 14, 2023 - $30. Tickets for club Christmas party are on sale for $40. Dinner and Dancing - Good times!
The HCB Social and Fishing Club is looking for nominations or volunteers to fill the following Board positions for the Social and Fishing Club for the 2023 year: President and Secretary.

The Variety and Drama Club would like to personally thank everyone who showed up to the performances of “Those Were The Days” in October. We hope you had a great experience.
What’s next? Mum’s the word, but we are working on our next incredible performance with information to be given at a later date.
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, November 3rd at 7PM in Clubhouse 2. All current members, as well as anybody who would like to join are encouraged to be there. Come see what we’re all about!

It is fall and the weather is cooler, after a very warm summer.
This month is our lunch- various quiche. Hope you get your $10.00 ticket. The annual Christmas Party is moving along. As usual it is at the Clarion, Dinner and Dancing.
Our club could always use more members, so spread the word to all.

If so, you’re exactly what we’re looking for!
The Melodiers are a musical group where everyone is encouraged to join. NO formal training is needed. NO Auditions are ever given! The only requirement is the love for music and the desire to sing. EVERYONE is welcome to join as long as you live in the Holiday City communities.
Our next performance is called “Sounds Of The Seasons” and will be on December 4th at 2PM in Clubhouse 2. Tickets are $5.00 and are available on the first and third Tuesday of the month in Clubhouse 1 from noon to 1PM.
If you would like to join, rehearsals are every Wednesday from 4:00-6:00PM in Clubhouse 2 in the Main Hall. Stop by and give a listen!

The time has finally arrived. “Those Were The Days” will be making its official debut on Saturday, October 15th at 7:30PM and Sunday, October 16th at 2:00PM in Clubhouse 2. Tickets are $7.00 each and will be available for purchase in Clubhouse 1 on Tuesday, October 4th from 12-1PM as well as at the door the time of the performances.
New members are welcome to stop by and observe. We meet up every Monday and Tuesday from 6:00-9:00PM at Clubhouse 2 in the main hall. Come see what we’re all about!

Our next meeting is Wednesday, October 12th. Holly Twig meets the second Wednesday of the month at 9:30 a.m. in the H.C. Berkeley Clubhouse #2 - upper clubhouse. Being part of this group doesn’t take very much time, and is very rewarding. Refreshments are served, there is a brief business meeting and we have a program. If you have been thinking about joining, please put the date on your calendar and come.
Our Mission is to raise money to purchase comfort items for the patients of RWJ Barnabas Health/Community Medical Center. 100% of the profit of our fundraising goes into those items that are selected from a Wish List that is made up from various departments. In the past, we have contributed such items as warming blankets, reclining chairs and televisions for the patients, just to name a few.
Here is what’s coming up:
- Wednesday, September 28th and Thursday, September 29th - we are having a Tupperware party! Everyone loves Tupperware in the new colors.
- Thursday, October 6th the handbag sale is back in time for the holidays. The prices are always exceptional. Start your holiday shopping here.
- Wednesday, October 19th, Boscov’s 25% off Discount Pass, Friends Helping Friends
- Friday, November 4th the Holly Twig Holiday Boutique is back. Come and shop here for great gift ideas and baked goods. There will be an assortment of beautiful crafted items too. At 3 p.m. we will have the drawing for the $500 Visa gift card. Raffles will be available to purchase from a Holly Twig.
Sales are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Outpatient Lobby and parking is free.
Personalized Letter from Santa to your special child is returning. Flyers with information will be available, or call for more information.
We continue to accept donations of new items that we resell and donations of yarn. We are always making baby hats for the newborns to wear home.

Our next show will be the first Sunday of December, and it will be our annual Holiday Concert. Our last one was a phenomenal success, followed by our Spring concert a few months ago. We, the Melodiers, are excited to present our next repertoire to the public.

Post 8352 members are welcome to transfer into our post.The next meeting of Silver/Holiday V.F.W. Post 10185 will be held on Thursday, September 1st at 1:00 pm at Silver Ridge Park West Clubhouse, 145 Westbrook Drive, Silver Ridge West. We hold our meetings on the first Thursday of every month. We meet in the daytime, so you do not have to drive at night. To join our post, just bring a copy of your Discharge (DD-214) to our meeting and you will be signed up right away. You'll receive a hardy welcome and refreshments before the meeting. You will also have a chance to talk with fellow Veterans and make new friends. Anyone needing transportation to our meetings can call Past Commander James Egan at 732-341-4905 or one of the other officers, and we will gladly pick you up and take you back home after the meeting.
Friday, September 2nd is VJ Day, This is the 77th Anniversary of the Japanese Surrendering to U.S. General Douglas MacArthur and General Jonathan Wainright. General Wainright was being honored at the ceremony because he was a former P.O.W. Held by the Japanese Army and a survivor of the infamous “Bataan Death March”. This historic event took place aboard the Battleship Missouri, anchored in Tokyo Harbor, ending W.W II on September 2nd, 1945.
Monday, September 5th is Labor Day.
Sunday, September 11th is Patriot Day.
Friday, September 16th, is National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
Thudsday, September 22nd is the first day of autumn.
Sunday, September 25th is Gold Star Mother's Day. Rosh Hashanah begins at Sunset and ends Tuesday at Sunset.
On Tuesday, September 27th at 7:00 pm V.F.W. Post 10185's Commander Thomas Kraszewski and his staff will attend V.F.W. District 12's meeting at V.F.W. Post TBD, where the latest V.F.W. Programs and events will be discussed. Any other post member wishing to attend can call Commander James Egan at 732-341-4905.
Thursday, September 29th is V.F.W. Day. The Veterans of Foreign Wars was established on September 29th, 1899. That is 223 years of fighting for Veterans Rights. You can join the fight for Veterans Rights by becoming a member OF V.F.W. Post 10185, we need your support.
