In December we do not have a regular scheduled meeting. Our members will enjoy a lovely holiday luncheon and the new Board of Directors will be sworn in.
In November we had the drawing for the raffle of the Visa gift card.
The amarayllis bulbs will be distributed early in the month in time to make beautiful gifts. This was another successful fundraising event.
Holly Twig continues to accept donations of new, soft yarn which is used by Holly Twig members to make baby hats for the newborns to wear home and chemo hats, shawls and lap blankets for the patients in the oncology department. We also accept donations of new or gently used items which we consign to the Second Time Around. Call Marylou for more details or to arrange to donate to us.
Holly Twig meets the second Wednesday of the month at Clubhouse 2 at Holiday City Berkeley at 9:30 a.m. We start with coffee and socializing and often have an interesting program before we get to the business meeting. Please join us in January as we continue to be a part of the improvements taking place.

These events are great opportunities for socializing with fellow members. Also, as the weather improves in the Spring, we are also organizing several fishing trips, including outings for Opening Day of Trout Season, Saltwater Party Boat Fishing, and Crabbing. These trips are open to everyone, even those who have never fished before. Come join us out on the water, maybe you will even catch a fish!

Beginning in January, the Veterans Committee will be creating the HCB Veteran’s Task Force. The focus will be to assist Veterans who reside in Holiday City at Berkeley. We have a strong connection with Veterans Affairs in Toms River plus a Committee of members who want only to help others. We will be able to direct Veterans and their families to resources that can help them. Additionally, we could possibly help with some smaller issues, a little more personal in nature. Our only requirement is that you are part of our Veterans Registry. Our Task Force team will need to verify your veterans status.
Please take the first step and fill out our Veterans Registry. In January, we will have a form to request assistance. We want to help.
